Teaching

  • Laboratory courses in microscopic identification of plant materials for third-year students of Pharmacy.

  • Laboratory courses in phytochemistry for third-year students of Pharmacy.

  • Pharmacognosy seminars for third-year students of Pharmacy

  • Laboratory courses in phytochemical preparation for fourth-year pharmacy students as part of the specialization blocks Phytochemistry and Phytotherapy, and Analytical Pharmacy.

Research

The research is focused on the analysis of the chemical composition of plant materials used traditionally in various diseases. Apart from that, the bioactivity of raw extract from investigated plant materials and their constituents in several cell-based models are performed. Recently, several projects focused on interactions of plant extracts with human microbiota, gut and skin microbiota, were established. The changes in the chemical composition and bioactivity of extracts after incubation with microbiota are investigated in the Microbiota Lab research group.
